COMING SOON: A co-op Ogre invasion scenario pack — free in August 2025!
Ahoy friends!
Thank you so much for supporting Untitled Pirate Game! Yes, that's its title! Yes, this is a passion project! Yes, this is a completely free, narrative miniature-agnostic skirmish game!
COMING SOON: A co-op Ogre invasion scenario pack — in August 2025! Also completely free!
Ogres are my very favourite creature across fantasy and sci-fi settings and I have a TON of wonderful Ogre models (from the Titanforge Bloodsail Ogres line of minis) that I'd love to see charging around the battlefield in Untitled Pirate Game, so it's in the works.
Playtesting has started on a co-op system whereby Crews team up to survive and protect their ships, island hideouts and ports filled with questonable business practices from an invading force of Ogres.
What types of Ogres and how many spawn in will be randomly rolled for using an d100 Ogre deployment table. They will be setting out to take down key objectives and making special actions based on a 2d12 roll table and then activating for the turn based on their Crew traits.
Some of the names of the Ogres' special actions being tested include: Wreck and Ruin, Sweeping Strike, Titanic Roar and, my personal favourite, Fling a Pirate. I'll let you imagine what kind of silly, cinematic moments these could lead to.
Four scenarios, which will act as a mini campaign, are in testing as of writing this devlog:
- Hold the Line: A desperate defense must be mounted as the Crews work together to hold back the relentless siege of attacking Ogres. Barricades and hastily built defences may slow the enemy, but the Ogres' brute strength is not to be underestimated.
- The Siege: The Crews have one chance to escape and make a plan to deal with the Ogre invasion! Their only hope lies in a docked ship, but the Ogres are closing in. The gangplanks are down, but the ship needs time to prepare for departure. Can the Crews fight their way aboard before they are overrun?
- Rescue the Captives: The Ogres have captured several Crew members (during the Siege scenario) and are holding them in crude cages ion an isolated island. The Crews must work together to break them free before they are eaten or sacrificed to something far worse.
- The Warlord's Last Stand: Whispers tell of the location of the monstrous Ogre Warlord that has been leading the attacks. If the Crews can kill it, perhaps the rest of the Ogres will scatter in fear. Such a shame that the Ogres have been tipped off about the Crews’ assassination plan!
